Publishing poorly edited copy (or copy that has not been edited at all) could reflect badly on you and the company/organisation. Perhaps your existing copy just needs to be cleaned up, shortened, tightened or polished. You may also be less than confident in spelling and in your use of grammar.

This will involve reviewing and changing the text with the intent to improve the flow and overall quality of the writing. It may require entire sentences or paragraphs to be re-written. The main goal is to ensure that the document makes sense, to cut down wordiness and clarify any ambiguity, making it clearer and more understandable.
Proofreading (Does not involve editing)
This is the process of examining the final draft of a document or text after it has been edited and goes beyond “spellcheck” to catch errors a computer might miss. It includes checking for punctuation errors, typos and grammatical errors.
